Welcome Bethany Allen!

Bethany AllenBethany Allen has joined the Palaeo@Leeds group as a NERC DTP postgraduate researcher having just completed a MSc in Palaeobiology at the University of Bristol. Bethany’s PhD project is entitled “Biodiversity in the extreme world of Pangaea” and she will be investigating the spatial distribution of biodiversity in the aftermath of the Late Permian mass extinction and through subsequent Triassic-Jurassic hyperthermal events.

Bethany’s project will involve applying a variety of statistical and climate modelling techniques to large global data sets as well as carrying out fieldwork for regional case studies of the Permo-Triassic of China.

Bethany will work with myself, Dr Daniel Hill (Leeds), Dr Erin Saupe (Oxford), and Prof. Paul Wignall (Leeds).
